Working with coffee can change worlds
Since 2011 I have been involved with Specialty Coffee. I have visited coffee shops, farms, roasters, and exporters on almost every continent. In 2015, I founded my company Desarrolladores De Café in Colombia with the goal of changing the world.
My motivation was to revolutionize the way of doing business with coffee. We have always sought a win-win-win: from the producer to the final consumer. I started my work developing coffees on two farms:
1. San Luis Farm, Líbano, Tolima, Colombia of the Arango family
2. La Increíble Farm, Medellín, Antioquia, Colombia of the Eusse family
Both families and the surroundings of the farm have improved their economic well-being, expanded their knowledge of coffee, and we have been growing together since day one. Today, we work with more than 15 coffee growers throughout Colombia, export coffee worldwide, teach courses on farm processing, roasting, and coffee cupping, and are part of Barista Hustle.
We have won several awards in competitions:
2019: Cupping Champion of Germany
2020: 3rd place Kaffeepanel, roasted coffee competition in Switzerland
2021: 1st place Kaffeepanel
2021: 2nd place in the filter coffee championship in Germany
2023: 3rd place national roasting championship in Germany
2023: Official coach of the world coffee championship in Taipei – Taiwan
And we have won several competitions in Colombia with my team: Cold-Brew, filter coffee challenges, … and there is more to come!

Change your life by serving yourself coffee
A small trick that changes the flavor
I love sharing excellent coffees and I became super nerdy since 2011. When I take a cup of coffee, my experience begins when I take it out of the box: I check the structure and color of the bean, I chew a bean as a first impression of aromas and flavors. When I grind my coffee, I take a moment to perceive its fragrance (the smell of dry, freshly ground coffee). I close my eyes and associate its smell with my sensory memory to identify them. While I prepare it, I enjoy all the nuances of the aromas and describe them to myself when I am alone.
Before taking the first sip, I preheat my cup and test how it tastes when I pour it from about 15 cm height or near the cup to see how this special coffee behaves better: some taste better one way and others the other. I choose the best for this preparation, pour it into the cup, and enjoy from the development of flavors, the residual, the acidity, the sweetness, the body, and the balance from hot to cold.

Specialty Coffee is produced by specialty coffee farmers, along with roasters and baristas, passion and enthusiasm for producing excellent coffee instead of penny hunting, production focused on maximizing output. We want to ensure that our allied producers have time and are worry-free to focus on quality. That is why we analyze together how much it costs to produce our coffees and share the profits, paying fair/good prices.

How to maximize your coffee experience
Your last brewing method
I immersed myself deeply in coffee cupping because I wanted to be able to understand and enjoy every nuance of the coffee I was drinking. I took this so far that I became the coffee cupping champion of Germany in 2019. During the cupping sessions, I sometimes found attributes in the coffee that were partly lost when I brewed it. Traditional pour-over methods improve the structure and cleanliness of the coffee, but generally reduce its sweetness and complexity. By understanding all the variables during the brewing process, I wanted to create a brewing device that could translate all cupping notes into a cup of filter coffee, especially its own sweetness.
We created the Peeler, which combines perfect water flow, turbulence control, temperature stability, and contact time. We created a brewing device that enhances extraction, is lightweight and travel-friendly, meeting all our requirements to be the best brewer in the world.
